About the Pastor

Pastor Cassiaus Farrell
Born in Trinidad, a small island in the West Indies, Pastor Cassiaus Farrell migrated to the United States of America 16 years ago with his wife and their two children. Pastor Cassiaus currently resides outside of Paterson, but he truly has a heart for the city. He has dedicated the past eight years of his life towards ministering to the people of Paterson despite all of the odds.

When other ministers failed to impact the city, Pastor Cassiaus dedication to Paterson kept his persistence alive. Others have come and gone, but Pastor Cassiaus and his team has been making a difference for these past few years through the Love of Jesus Family Church of Paterson, and the LOJ Caring Hands Community Development Corporation.

About the Church

World Outreach Center
The Love of Jesus Family Church is located in the heart of the city of Paterson at 385 Broadway. The church building has been in existence for over 100 years and has previously served as both a Masonic temple and a church for the Jehovah's Witnesses. Acquired in October of 2005, the Love of Jesus plans to utilize the five floor, four auditorium building as a community outreach facility.

The Love of Jesus Church ministry has been in existence for the past 20 years, having been formed by Senior Pastor Jason Alvarez. After realizing the need for a church in the city of Paterson, Pastor Alvarez appointed Pastor Cassiaus Farrell to be the steward of the ministry.

Immediately upon his arrival as pastor of the church, Pastor Cassiaus implemented practical changes that affected both the spiritual and physical lives of our residents. He brought with him a wealth of experience gained from both the religious and corporate worlds.

Pastor Cassiaus has been involved in substance abuse counseling as a lay minister, which proved to be beneficial to those who were trying to break free from the clutch of drug addiction. He also recognized the need for an after-school program for our children and immediately sought to finish the basement of the church sanctuary for this purpose.

Despite initial setbacks, Pastor Cassiaus has found much room for use of his skills as a contractor, acquired from 7 years as a realtor involved in rehabilitation of houses in the Newark area and selling them at low cost to low-income families. When the neighboring building to our previous church was destroyed by fire and abandoned, Pastor Cassiaus immediately saw an opportunity to turn a disaster into an image of beauty.
